At Golden Touch Jewellery, one of our specialties is designing and crafting custom gold and silver pendants. We leverage modern technology such as 3d printing in wax to create our jewellery moulds, allowing for a high level of detail and intricacy in our designs.

Stage 1: Virtual Consultation

To begin, one of our jewellery designers will meet with you on a virtual video conference. Working with the designer you will have the opportunity to create a bespoke design for your pendant. Our expert designers will answer any questions you have in relation to the process and walk you through the various styles and options, as well as the potential costs. After this briefing session the designer will begin working on the designs for your pendant.

Stage 2: Design Phase

After you provide our designer with your brief, they will begin by creating a detailed sketch according to your request. Once the design is completed, you will have a chance to review it and provide any feedback or changes you’d like made. Once those changes are applied, we create a 3D model of your pendant and send you a HD 360° video for your approval. Once you approve the final design we move on to the next stage: crafting the pendant.

Design Stages

Stage 3: Crafting Phase

From the 3D model of your design, our designer creates a wax mould using a 3d printer. These printers allow for a high degree of detail in our designs. A plaster-like substance called “investment” is then poured over the mould and is heated in a kiln. The wax melts and runs out of the mould, leaving behind a cavity in the exact shape of your design.

The chosen precious metal is then heated and poured into the mould creating the cast.

Your pendant is now refined and polished to bring it to a mirror finish. Any gemstones are then set into the metal by one of our jewellers.

Irish Harp

The harp is the national symbol of Ireland and this customer wanted to represent their heritage with a 14 karat gold harp featuring an intricate double sided design.

Pixel Sapphire

This pendant features a 12 carat lab grown blue sapphire set in to a 14 karat gold basket setting. The gemstone features a pixel cut which provides a unique pixelated effect as the light passes through it.

Persian/Farsi Name

This 18 karat gold pendant feautures the customers name in Farsi.

Roman Coin

For this piece we sources a genuine ancient roman coin. This silver denarius featuring the emperor Marcus Aurelius was set in a silver bezel and paired with a solid silver box chain.

Diamond Cross

This 14 karat white gold cross features 1.2 carats total of VVS D colour lab grown diamonds.

Scottish Thistle

The thistle is the national symbol of Scotland and this customer wanted to represent their heritage with a 14 karat white gold thistle featuring a unique and intricate design with a gorgeous 1 carat natural blue sapphire.
